Dinka is a Nilo-Saharan language spoken in Southern Sudan by over 2 million people. A standard form of Dinka does not exist, given the variation in the major dialects, without one emerging as predominant. Some consider the four main varieties of Dinka – Ngok, Rek, Agaar and Bor – to be separate languages. The Dinka people are a major ethnic group in Sudan, living along the west bank of the White Nile and the Nile River.
